How I rejoice to see the sun ablaze in the sky,
And that our little blue globe spins on its way!
That heartfelt feelings in these verses fly,
Now stepping forth with confidence each day.
I'm glad I live upon this earth, can love,
And write my poetry about it all,
Describe the fiery bursts of passion from above,
And for my every sin, forgiveness call.
I love to dwell beside nature's endless grace,
To feel within it the very breath of Earth,
A heartfelt, caring confession in this place—
The distant vistas always called me forth.
I tell myself: my life was not in vain,
Since I nurtured feeling from the very dawn.
I write my verses freely, with wild refrain,
Having already lived half my life here on the lawn.
But many more splendid days await me still—
My heart will never be too scant for love.
Those graceful, inspired moments, with a thrill,
I'll touch the very edges of happiness above!
