Scream after Knife

Scream after Knifev6

@GG___

Theatrical alternative metal inspired by American Psycho, at a medium tempo. Cold, polished, unsettling atmosphere with melodic clean vocals and psychologically intense storytelling. Open with an eerie cinematic intro: piano, fluorescent hum, ticking clock, distant city ambience, then a sudden horror-film-style woman’s scream. Drop straight into a heavy breakdown. Keep verses controlled and melodic. Build tension in each pre-chorus with rising guitars and sharp high screams, then burst into a powerful melodic chorus; add high screams in the second half of each chorus. Include breakdowns after the intro, second chorus and third chorus. End with a slow, crushing breakdown and stylized metallic knife-like impacts in time with the drums. No growls or guttural vocals. Professional studio sound: clear vocals, defined instruments, balanced mix, controlled low end, no muddiness or clipping.

[Intro — Theatrical, Atmospheric] [A polished piano motif plays beneath a low room tone. Add distant traffic, a clock ticking, and the hum of fluorescent lights. A sudden, cinematic woman’s scream cuts through the mix, like a horror-film sound effect. Let it echo unnaturally, then fade into silence. Full band enters with a slow, heavy breakdown.] [Breakdown 1 — Immediately After the Intro] [Medium-tempo, heavy alternative-metal riff. The guitars move in measured, syncopated pulses. Keep the atmosphere cold and theatrical.] [High Screams] Look at me. Tell me what you see. [Verse 1 — Melodic Clean Vocals, Controlled] The morning begins with a perfect reflection. The tie sits straight. The hair holds its shape. I know the names of the right restaurants and the precise words that make people listen. Under the bathroom light, my expression waits for instruction. Somewhere behind it, something has stopped responding. [Pre-Chorus — Clean Vocals Building into High Screams] The room is getting smaller. The music is getting louder. I keep repeating the lines that make me sound human. [Rising High Screams] Say my name! Make it mean something! [Chorus 1 — Powerful Melodic Clean Vocals] I wear the face they recognize. I move through rooms without arriving. Every word is perfectly placed. Every silence gives me away. There is a stranger behind the glass, watching me perform myself. [Verse 2 — Clean Vocals, Increasing Tension] The office glows with careful surfaces. Everyone is speaking in numbers and listening for status. A card is held beneath the light. The smallest difference becomes a verdict. I laugh when the room expects it. I nod as if I am still inside the conversation. The city passes beyond the windows like a film I have already seen. [Pre-Chorus — Gradual Build, Clean Vocals into Screams] The clock keeps moving. The face stays fixed. I search the mirror for a sign that I am still here. [Rising High Screams] Break the frame! Let something answer! [Chorus 2 — Powerful Clean Vocals, Second Half with High Screams] I wear the face they recognize. I move through rooms without arriving. Every word is perfectly placed. Every silence gives me away. [High Screams] There is a stranger behind the glass! He knows the shape of my voice! [Breakdown 2 — After Chorus 2] [Heavy, medium-tempo breakdown with abrupt stops. Alternate clean shouted phrases with sharp high screams. Keep the violence implied and psychological.] [Clean Shout] Look at the surface! [High Scream] It’s coming apart! [Clean Shout] Say what you saw! [High Scream] No one can tell! [Bridge — Sparse Piano, Intimate Clean Vocals] The nights begin to lose their edges. A familiar room feels staged. I hear my own voice from somewhere across the room. The stories change when I tell them. The faces change when I remember. I ask the mirror for a witness. It gives me another performance. [Pre-Chorus 3 — Quiet Start, Then Explosive Build] The lights are still burning. The city is still awake. I hold my breath and wait for the world to notice. [Rising High Screams] Say it clearly! Tell me I was here! [Chorus 3 — Biggest Chorus, Melodic Clean Vocals; Screams in the Second Half] I wear the face they recognize. I move through rooms without arriving. Every word is perfectly placed. Every silence gives me away. [High Screams] There is a stranger behind the glass! There is no one else to blame! [Breakdown 3 — After Chorus 3] [The full band drops into a crushing half-time groove. Use sharp rhythmic stops and dissonant guitar accents. Keep the vocal delivery intense, but not low or guttural.] [High Screams] No name! No witness! No way back! No way out! [Outro — Final Slow Breakdown] [Strip the arrangement back to a slow, heavy pulse. Add a muted, metallic knife-like impact sound in time with the drums—stylized and percussive, like a cinematic sound effect. No graphic sounds. Let each impact grow heavier as the guitars and low strings build.] [Clean Vocals, Quiet and Detached] The mirror keeps the light on. The room gives nothing back. [High Screams] Look at me! [One final synchronized metallic impact and drum hit. Abrupt stop.]
