Dark, epic progressive djent / cinematic metalcore inspired by a dystopian surveillance state. Cold telescreen static, radio interference, mechanical pulses, muffled footsteps, and distant alarms establish an oppressive atmosphere. Build from a long instrumental intro breakdown with shifting time signatures into heavy, syncopated, low-tuned djent riffs, dissonant guitars, huge pauses, polyrhythmic drums, cinematic choir, orchestral hits, and brass-like synth accents. Use dramatic dynamics: restrained, tired clean vocals in the verses; tense, gradually building pre-choruses; wide, powerful melodic clean vocals in the choruses; and aggressive growls and screams in the breakdowns, with call-and-response moments. Place a heavy breakdown after each chorus, with the second breakdown longer and more progressive. Make the bridge sparse and fragile before it escalates into the final chorus and an extended, crushing final breakdown. End with an abrupt final hit and a faint telescreen hum.

[Intro — distant telescreen static, faint surveillance hum, distorted public-address voice, slow clock-like pulse; no vocals]
[Add cold room tone, radio interference, muffled footsteps, and a distant alarm]
[Long Progressive Intro Breakdown — instrumental, shifting time signatures, syncopated low guitar chugs, huge pauses, epic choir and brass-like synth accents]
[No full vocal lines yet; use distant, heavily processed whispers as texture]
[Build from sparse, mechanical rhythms into a massive full-band hit, then drop into Verse 1]
[Verse 1 — tired clean vocals, restrained and intimate]
The telescreen trembles in the graveyard gloom,
I hide my diary in a crack in the frozen wall.
[Low growl]
An ink-stained line — my rebellion in a world that obeys,
[Clean vocals, then rising scream]
Where every thought is branded guilty from birth.
[Verse 1 — heavier guitars; alternate screams and growls]
The Times burn yesterday’s traces away,
Erase every person as if they were never here.
[Growl]
Through the hatred of the streets, forbidden light flickers,
[Scream]
And above the square, a forgotten door.
[Pre-Chorus — clean vocals, tense and gradually building]
I hear footsteps beyond the wall — don’t breathe,
Every question already has its answer.
[Scream, layered with a low growl]
Be still!
Look up!
Repeat!
[Chorus — powerful clean vocals, wide melodic delivery; backing screams on the final words]
War is peace, and stillness is fear,
Freedom is bondage, locked in iron chains.
Ignorance is strength, snuffing out the flame,
Big Brother watches through the palm against my face.
[Breakdown 1 — after the chorus; heavy half-time djent, syncopated stops, low growls]
[Growl]
WAR IS PEACE!
[Scream]
TRUTH IS A COMMAND!
[Growl]
DO YOU REMEMBER YOUR NAME?
[Scream]
NOT ANYMORE!
[Instrumental hit — brief silence, then a massive low-tuned guitar accent]
[Verse 2 — clean vocals, numb and controlled]
Julia’s embrace — a flare in the dark,
Shattered against the walls of a faceless prison.
[Scream]
Charrington shed his disguise,
[Growl]
And the doors slammed shut in the deadened ranks.
[Verse 2 — increasingly aggressive; alternate clean vocals, screams, and growls]
O’Brien smiles as he drills in the numbers,
Breaking the mind, reducing it to a sum.
[Low growl]
Two plus two is five. Repeat.
[Tired clean vocals]
I remembered love…
[Scream]
But they’ll command me to betray!
[Pre-Chorus — clean vocals over a rising odd-meter pulse; screams answer each line]
I hear footsteps beyond the wall — don’t breathe,
Every question already has its answer.
[Scream]
Be still!
[Growl]
Look up!
[Scream]
Repeat!
[Chorus — clean vocals, bigger than the first; harsh backing vocals on selected phrases]
War is peace, and stillness is fear,
Freedom is bondage, locked in iron chains.
Ignorance is strength, snuffing out the flame,
Big Brother watches through the palm against my face.
[Breakdown 2 — after the chorus; longer, more progressive, changing meters and stop-start accents]
[Growl]
ERASE!
[Scream]
REPLACE!
[Growl]
MAKE THEM FORGET!
[Scream]
IT NEVER HAPPENED!
[Instrumental section — shifting polyrhythms, dissonant guitar bends, taiko-like toms, cinematic choir]
[Build back into a crushing half-time riff]
[Bridge — starts with sparse piano or clean guitar; fragile clean vocals]
Room One-Oh-One. In the dark,
The horror stirs behind the bars.
[Whispered clean vocals, gradually building]
A primal nightmare closes in,
Burning the last remains of my soul.
[Scream]
Give them Julia!
[Growl]
Tear her apart at daybreak!
[Full-band hit; scream]
Just take away the cage!
[Low growl, then sudden silence]
Just… don’t make me face them.
[Chorus — clean vocals, emotionally strained; add layered screams near the end]
War is peace, and stillness is fear,
Freedom is bondage, locked in iron chains.
Ignorance is strength, snuffing out the flame,
Big Brother watches through the palm against my face.
[Breakdown 3 — after the chorus; crushing half-time, dense low guitars, growls and screamed call-and-response]
[Growl]
WHO ARE YOU?
[Scream]
NO ONE!
[Growl]
WHAT DID YOU SEE?
[Scream]
NOTHING!
[Everyone, shouted in unison]
TWO PLUS TWO IS FIVE!
TWO PLUS TWO IS FIVE!
[Progressive instrumental passage — dissonant riff, odd-meter drum groove, cinematic choir, rising tension]
[Sudden band stop]
[Outro — clean vocals, quiet and defeated]
Beneath the chestnut tree, gin trembled in my glass.
The struggle was over. I loved him at last.
[Long Final Breakdown — begins immediately after the final line; slow half-time, evolving djent riff, very low guitars, huge cinematic accents]
[Low growl]
FORGET YOUR NAME…
[Instrumental breakdown — repeat and transform the main riff; add shifting time signatures, orchestra hits, and choir]
[Scream]
DON’T LOOK!
[Instrumental stop-start sequence — increasingly heavy, then a brief silence]
[Growl]
BIG BROTHER…
IS WATCHING!
